The Christian life is an ongoing journey. In the Sacrament of Confirmation we celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit and reaffirm our baptismal commitment to the Mission of Christ. The Spirit comes to us, enabling and empowering us to live as fully initiated members of the Catholic Church and sons and daughters of God who extend the message of Christ to the world.
Confirmation for Young People
At St. Stephen Parish, Confirmation is usually celebrated in the spring of Grade 8.
Preparation for Confirmation begins in Grade 7 with the study of the message and mission of Jesus Christ.
Formation continues during 8th grade through the student's School or Religious Education classes.
A Day of Retreat assists the young people in discerning their readiness for the sacrament.
Candidates choose a Confirmation name with appropriate research on their model of faith.
Candidates engage in volunteer service hours, as determined by the School or Religious Education program.
Eighth grade parents will be invited to a Confirmation meeting during the first semester of the school year.
For information about our Religious Education program, please contact Sandi Morgan.
Confirmation for Adults
High School students and adults who are seeking to be Confirmed are invited to discuss their faith journey and to determine the appropriate preparation and the timing for the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
